Debra Furtado, Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer of Senior Connections, Debra is responsible for day to day operations of the non-profit senior services agency and reports directly to the board chair. She details a strategic vision implemented by experienced program directors with a strong emphasis on dependable execution. Debra guides the staff in the growth and enhancement of services provided to clients throughout greater Atlanta and middle Georgia and in preparation for a booming aging population in need of critical services. She is a leading advocate for senior services in Georgia, frequently serving on ad hoc committees and organizations to facilitate increased funding and better living conditions for Georgian seniors.
Debra has 20 plus years in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. Former positions include organization development and training roles for a Fortune 1000 oil and gas firm; volunteer, human resources and customer service oversight and extensive consulting work.
Debra has a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts, Political Science, from the University of Georgia. She serves on the Meals on Wheels Association of Georgia board of directors and the Decatur Lifelong Community Advisory Board. She is a graduate of Nonprofit CEO Peer Perspectives and the Georgia Women’s Policy Institute. Debra is also a Leadership DeKalb graduate and a former University of Georgia Alumni Association Board Member.
